Areas of support

Nine areas, one approach:
find the pattern, start there.

I work with individuals, couples and families across every stage of life. Whatever has brought you here, my approach is the same — to investigate what’s really driving them and build a plan around you.

Why I do this work

Most chronic health issues aren’t random. They’re a pattern.

My route into nutritional therapy wasn’t a straight line. A decade working at the intersection of infant feeding, airway and oral development gave me a clinical perspective that no textbook could — and showed me, again and again, that the answers are rarely where you’d expect them.

They’re rarely random — they’re a pattern. Finding the pattern is where I start.

About Heidi

If you’ve tried the elimination diets, the supplements — and still don’t feel right — you’re in the right place.

The full story first — not just what’s in front of me.

My journey

I began my career as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, supporting families through many complex feeding challenges. Over a decade, I saw something that fascinated me — how often feeding difficulties, airway issues and oral development pointed to deeper patterns in the body.

That curiosity led me to train as a Registered Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist at the College of Naturopathic Medicine, so I could investigate those deeper patterns properly. Today I work with individuals, couples and families across every stage of life.

My approach

Every client begins with a thorough, unhurried review of their complete health history — how you’ve been feeling, diet, lifestyle, environment and the full timeline of how things developed. From there, I build a personalised plan.

The plan is only as complex as it needs to be. My job is to find what matters most and start there. Change that sticks is change that fits your life — not a protocol that requires your life to fit around it.

Berries, figs and grapes on a wooden board

What makes my approach different

A decade working at the cutting edge of infant oral function and airway gave me an unexpected window into the deeper workings of the body. I understand, in a way few nutritional therapists do, how breathing, the airway and the nervous system shape long-term health.

It’s a thread that runs through much of my work — and one I’ve written about in more detail. Read more on The Breathing Connection.

My toolkit

  • Naturopathic nutritional therapy
  • Functional testing — OAT, Mycotoxins, GI 360, DUTCH, blood chemistry
  • Nutrigenomics — LifeCode Gx certified practitioner
  • Targeted supplementation

How I work

A partnership — a proper investigation, not a quick fix.

Working with me is a partnership — a proper investigation into your health, not a quick fix or a generic plan. Here’s what to expect.

Figs, detail
01
No pressure · No script

It starts with a conversation

Before anything else, we talk. Get in touch and we’ll arrange a short, no-pressure conversation about what’s going on for you, what you’ve already tried, and whether we’re the right fit to work together. There’s no obligation and no script — just an honest discussion.

02
Unhurried · In depth

A thorough case history

If we decide to work together, we begin with a full case history. This is an unhurried, in-depth look at your complete health picture — your diet, lifestyle, sleep, stress, environment and the full timeline of how things developed. Most people have never been asked these questions in this much detail before.

This is where the investigation begins. Most persistent problems aren’t random — they’re a pattern. My job is to find it.

Only when it changes the plan

Functional testing, where it helps

Where it’s clinically useful, I use functional testing to see what’s actually happening inside your body rather than guessing. Depending on your situation this might include organic acids testing, comprehensive stool analysis, hormone profiling, mycotoxin screening or blood chemistry.

I arrange any testing for you and interpret the results in detail — so you understand not just what they show, but what they mean for you. Testing is never done for its own sake; only when it will genuinely change the plan.

Built around your life

Your personalised plan

From everything I learn, I build a plan that’s yours alone. It brings together nutrition, targeted supplementation, lifestyle medicine and, where relevant, breathwork and nervous system support.

The plan is only as complex as it needs to be. I won’t overwhelm you with thirty changes at once. We find what matters most and start there — because change that sticks is change that fits your life.

05
Foundations first

A phased approach

Meaningful change happens in stages. We typically begin by laying foundations — stabilising symptoms and removing the biggest stressors. From there we move into more targeted support, refining the plan based on how your body responds. For longer programmes, we finish by consolidating progress and preparing you to continue confidently on your own.

Nutrigenomics — precision nutrition

For clients who want the most tailored approach possible, I offer nutrigenomic testing through LifeCode Gx. This looks at how your unique genetic profile influences the way your body processes nutrients — so your plan can be built for you specifically, not for the average person.

How long it takes

Every person is different. Some start with Starter for a single concern and a clear plan to follow. Others, particularly with complex or long-standing concerns, work with me over three to six months so we can investigate properly and adjust as we go. We’ll find the right level of support for you when we first speak.

Gut Health, Intolerances & Allergies

Bloating, discomfort, food reactions and digestive issues — finding what’s really driving them.

Bloating, discomfort, irregular digestion, food reactions, skin issues — these are some of the most common reasons people come to me, and some of the most rewarding to investigate.

Using detailed case history and, where helpful, comprehensive stool analysis, I look beyond the surface to find what’s actually driving them.

03Mother and child nutrition

Maternal & Postnatal Nutrition

Replenishing what pregnancy and feeding deplete — targeted nutrition for new and recovering mothers.

Pregnancy and feeding draw heavily on a mother’s nutrient reserves, and the postnatal period is often when depletion catches up. Exhaustion, low mood, hair loss, poor recovery — these are common but they are not something you simply have to accept.

I provide targeted nutritional support to help you rebuild and feel like yourself again.

The Breathing Connection

How you breathe shapes your health in ways most people never consider.

An unexpected window. I spent a decade working at the cutting edge of infant feeding, airway and oral development. It gave me an unexpected window into the deeper workings of the body — and showed me how something as fundamental as breathing connects to so much of our long-term health.

It’s a connection I now bring to all of my work, with clients of every age.

Why breathing matters more than you think. Breathing isn’t just about getting air in and out. The way we breathe — through the nose or the mouth, deeply or shallowly, by day and especially by night — influences how well our tissues are oxygenated, how our nervous system is regulated, and how our bodies recover and repair.

When breathing is dysfunctional, the effects rarely stay in one place. They ripple outwards, often quietly, over years.

The cascade. Disordered breathing can set off a chain of consequences throughout the body. Compromised airways and poor breathing patterns can reduce oxygen delivery and disrupt the production of nitric oxide — a molecule central to circulation, immune function and far more. Over time, this cascade has been linked to a wide range of chronic conditions.

What it connects to

  • Sleep quality and sleep disorders
  • Autoimmune and thyroid conditions
  • Cardiovascular and metabolic health
  • Inflammatory conditions
  • Energy, focus and mental health

The mouth and the microbiome

The story begins even higher up — in the mouth. Oral health, the oral microbiome and how the mouth and airway develop all play a part in how we breathe and, in turn, how we thrive. This is the territory I worked in for years, and it informs how I see the whole picture.

How I work with this

In practice, this means I look at breathing as part of your wider health picture — alongside nutrition, sleep, stress and environment. Where it’s relevant, I draw on breathwork and nervous system techniques from my yoga training, and from September 2026, the Buteyko Method, to help clients restore healthier patterns.

The Milk Practice

Where it all began.

Alongside my functional nutrition practice, I am the founder of The Milk Practice — my specialist infant feeding and lactation consultancy, established in 2017.

As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I have supported over 1,200 families through every kind of feeding journey — from breastfeeding and tongue tie to reflux, oral function and introducing solids.

It was this work that first opened my eyes to how deeply connected feeding, airway and whole-body health really are — and ultimately led me to train as a nutritional therapist.

The Milk Practice focuses on babies and infant feeding. My nutrition practice, here, works with individuals, couples and families at every stage of life. The two are separate — but they share the same investigative approach and the same commitment to looking beyond the obvious.
